The final competition of the year, the Christmas practical which was held on 21st December 2025, was blessed with a dry, fine day and attracted a good turn out of competitiors who were keen to try their skills against the course.
Whilst the course was a knock-em-down run where competitiors could use there own .22 rifles, the shotgun stage proved a little tricky with all competitors having to use the same side by side 12 gauge shotgun to ensure a level playing field. Both the 12 gauge and ammo were kindly provided by Dave Scheeres. Thank you Dave.
Congratulations to Glen Maghie who posted a very impressive time which earned him the top prize of a Christmas Hamper and a HTSC mug. Barry West and Sam Woods, in 2nd and 3rd, both collected some festive goodies to go along with there much sought after HTSC mugs.
Special mention has to go to Sam who is only fifteen and managed to finish in third place against a field of some very experienced shooters. He was also the only competitor to achieve three shots and three hits with the shotgun whilst all others took at least four shots to complete the stage. Well done Sam.
A huge thank you to the ROs for running the competition and to all who helped out on the day resetting the targets for each run.
