Welsh Open Gallery Rifle Championship
The Welsh Gallery Rifle Championships were held at HTSC ‘s ranges at Haverfordwest over the week-end of 6th to 7th August 2016.
Almost 50 competitors entered. This resulted in over three hundred individual shooting entries.
The range staff arrived on Thursday 4th and shot their competitions early. This enabled them the time to conduct the various competitions
over the week-end. This was done most professionally, and in good spirit. It helps shooters relax to know the RO is doing a good job.
After expert engineers from HTSC spent a week servicing the turning target system prior to the competition, it came as a disappointment to find
their labours were in vain and the system failed. However, plan B was initiated and with the combination of blasts on a whistle and shouts of “UP!”,
“Down!” the matches were successfully completed.
The International match between Wales and England took place on Friday.

Competitors had travelled from a wide area of GB. Some stayed on to sample the delights of our wonderful Pembrokeshire.
Despite the non-turning-target hitch, the whole week-end was a great success. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
We look forward to next year’s competition.
Why not come along and have a go? All events are classified so you only shoot against shooters of a similar ability to yourself.
