Club hosted the Welsh Black Powder Championships over the weekend of 6th and 7th April. Spread over two days gave plenty of time for shooters who entered a number of different events to compete. The number of entrants was not high. Cost of travel, accommodation etc being negative factors. However, Tom and Shonagh Clark travelled from the west of Scotland to compete, almost a thousand mile round trip. Well done!
Others came from Cardiff and Aberystwyth as well as from Pembrokeshire.
The winning results are as follows;
Flintlock rifle – Paul James
Free black powder rifle – John Taylor
Military rifle – Tim Ward
Comminazo – Tom Clark
Matchlock – Tom Clark
Free pistol – Tim Ward
50 mts – Tim Ward
Colt – Mike Thomas
Mariette – Bill James
Kuchenreuter Original – John Munt
Kuchenreuter Reproduction – Mike Thomas

Open and Welsh Rifle Champ – Tim Ward
Particular praise must go to Tim Ward who shot so well. This was his first major championship and had only had his pistol for two days before competing.
Well done to all competitors.
