With the cold gnawing at our bones and John Munt reduced to shouting ‘SHOOT NOW!’ because the turning system on the targets was frozen solid for the first detail, it was an interesting and competitive first Gallery Rifle competition for 2013.
The attendance was impressive, and may well be a record for recent years, as the membership continues to grow steadily. Some of the shooting was very impressive too – the full results are online on the 2013 Results pages.
Marek walked off with an easy win in the LBR, but the underlever was a much closer affair, with 13 shooters scoring over 290 and the top 6 only separated by 3 points. But once again, Marek, with a sensational perfect 300 and 24x came out on top. Here’s his LBR target by the way!
It had been hoped that we would also be able to run the multi-target (Service B) competition on the day, but time ran out so this will be rescheduled for later in the year. Check back for updates or keep an eye on the notices in the clubhouse.
The next Gallery Rifle competition is the same Timed & Precision (PP1) course of fire on Sunday 10th Feb at 10:00 for small-bore rifles.
