Well folks the Phoenix Meeting (the Annual Celebration of Shooting Sports for 2012) held at the National Shooting Centre Bisley has come and gone. Several of our Club members went for the weekend and all of them had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The weather was kind to us for the competitions and two of our members brought back a Gold Medal.
Peter Revell had a 1st with his Classic Flintlock (smoothbore) pistol with a score of 83, followed very closely by Allan Edwards on his tail with an 82. Well done to Pete because a Flintlock is not an easy gun to shoot.
Jill Tanner also had a 1st position in the Timed and Precision with a score of 297 and 15X’s out of a score of 300, her best score ever. Jill also had a 4th place in the Multi-Target and only just missed the 1st position by one point. Gold position scored 110 with 9X’s Silver position scored 110 and 8X’s and Bronze position scored 110 and 5X’s. Jill’s score was 109 with 11X’s, so better luck next time!!!
Marek Pawlik had a 5th position in the 25m Precision with 273 and 5X’s also a 3rd position in the 50m Precision with 237 with his LBR not one of Marek’s best scores. But, he did well in the Advancing Target he had a 3rd place with 172 and 13X’s. Well done to all who entered.
The Phoenix Trade Fair at the heart of Bisley was a roaring success and some of our members purchased lots of new acquisitions for their collection.
