Simon Hart, the MP for South Pembrokeshire visited the club last Friday and acquitted himself well.  Here is the press release of his visit

South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart visited Haverfordwest Target Shooting Club recently to inspect their new 50 & 100 metre shooting ranges and meet members.

Mr Hart acquitted himself well and scored several “bullseyes” with a variety of target rifles ranging from an original US Civil War 1863 dated muzzle loading musket to modern advanced target rifles with telescopic sights.

Club Membership Secretary John Munt explained to Mr Hart that the Club was originally founded in 1968 and served members within a 50 mile radius of Haverfordwest and that the Club motto “No competition too hard, no distance too far” is demonstrated by the fact that some current members have represented Great Britain in shooting sports as far away as Australia.

Haverfordwest Target Shooting Club is a friendly local shooting club whose members compete in a large number of disciplines from air rifle and pistol to long distance rifle shooting.

Simon Hart MP commented “It was lovely to meet this dedicated band of enthusiasts and see the club’s impressive facilities. It’s not every day that you get to handle a rifle dating from the US Civil War so it was a very memorable experience.””
