Patience of a saint!
That's what you have to have once you get into this shooting malarkey! But no-one thought to mention that when I was signing up.
The trouble is, that once you get your first few guns, then suddenly browsing web sites that sell you shooting stuff change from a 'one day when I get my FAC'-experience into a 'pass the credit card, this stuff won't hang around for long...' one! And having placed your order, you wait. And wait.
And wait some more...
To be fair (no names, no pack-drill - whatever that means), the helpful retailer does contact you regularly with updates and tales of supplier frustration, but in the meantime that shiny new scope can't be attached to that shiny new rifle until the simplest of shiny new scope rings are 'in stock'. And talking of stocks, my lovely new laminated Boyds Evolution has arrived for my Ruger, so I'm about to carry out my first customisation job; next time I'm on the range watch out, I may well be inadvertenty shooting round corners!
As for the other bits, it's just as well I have the patience of a saint. I'm sure it will all be worth it, though, but I HAVE to get some serious practice in if I'm ever going to challenge that Barrie!
