The 50m range is being turfed today and hopefully the range should be up and running fairly soon thanks to all the effort Barries Learmont has put in to the research and development of the range. If you haven’t seen the range as yet, you have a pleasant surprise in store.
The club Open Days have attracted 19 visitors during the two half days which is much more than can be expected. We also had two arrivals before the open days due to the poster campaign and we have at least another 5 people still hiding in the woodwork. Many thanks to those that helped out during the open days. Particular mention must go to Graham and his better half who cleaned the club from top to bottom at some ungodly hour in the morning and to Dave Scheeres whose gunpowder laden Bara Brith went down a treat, next time we are going to have some dynamite rock cakes!!
The weather at Bisley was very good this year and all the boys who went enjoyed their shooting even though they had changed the rules slightly. For several of the competitions the disciplines have changed but they all shot their matches without too much trouble. Marek Pawlik did very well in the Timed and Precision with his LBR he was in second place with 291 x 10 he also had a third place with the LBR, well done Marek.
Very sorry about the 1500 mini competition which did not take place, Tom developed excruciating back pain and couldn’t get to the Club and a lot of other members were ill with the Bird/Swine/Munt flue and other ailments!!
