Marek   Pawlick and Rob Wheeler have been shooting a lot nationally representing the club , especially at Bisley , Shepton Mallet and most recently  at the Derby open . These are all part of the Gallery rifle and Pistol  annual National circuit.

There are another 5 big events to go , the next one being the Welsh Open at our ranges . Derby was rather special for both of our competitors as a lot of the top boys and girls from the UK attend . Adam and Lorraine represented the club too .

Marek was victorious in T&P 1 Revolver with a score of 300 with 21 x’s, which is a new British Record!! whoop whoop!!! It was last set in 2011 with 20x. So its  highest score in a National comp  since the introduction of LBRs. Marek also shot for the Welsh team in Pistol and Revolver . Rob won two competitions including the highly coveted T&P 1 Smallbore against very strong competition. He also shot brilliantly for Wales , and Wales won the Home Counties Match against Scotland and England. We seem to be holding our own in an ever improving gallery rifle division .

Marek shoot in X class in all pistol and revolver events and was the no 1 ranked in Ta&P 1 LBR last year in Britain and third in Multi LBR . Rob has now got into X Class in every thing he shoots too, and specialises a little more in the 1500 and Bianchi , though he performs brilliantly in the short ones too . In Derby he came 7th in T&P F/B with a score of 300. All the first 11 shooters had 300’s, separated on X’s and countback. The winner had 26X, while Rob had 23!!!!

At the Phoenix both had wins .  Rob in Classic under lever and Marek in Precision Revolver , Precision Pistol and Advancing target . So a good year so far , and now time for practise before the Welsh .

(From Marek) A big thanks to the club for its fantastic facilities and to Phil Hunt who makes my bullets. MP
