We had a fantastic week end. The Welsh Gallery Rifle Club ran the three day shoot from Friday 9th August, when range staff shot, to Sunday 11th. About forty competitors took part in eighteen different types of competition in three classes, X, A and B. Some competitors had travelled considerable distances. Wednesday 22nd May 2013: We all had a great day. The weather was fine but windy. We shot at 300 yards in the morning and at 500 yards in the afternoon. To some of us this was a big first. These longer ranges are usually reserved for visits to Bisley. To shoot a muzzle loader at these distances and score well, was an added bonus. Bianchi Competition – Full Bore
This competition was shot in two phases: a combination of the two giving an overall score. The first stage was speed shooting, called “Los Alamitos”. Welsh Muzzle Loading Championships
Club hosted the Welsh Black Powder Championships over the weekend of 6th and 7th April. Spread over two days gave plenty of time for shooters who entered a number of different events to compete. The number of entrants was not high. Cost of travel, accommodation etc being negative factors.
